Weekend Wanderings

A few weekends ago, my husband and I spent the weekend at Copper Mountain with some friends. We stayed in a ski-in, ski-out condo. As I mentioned in another post, the weather has been all over the place the past few weeks. 70°F and sunny one day and 35°F and rainy/snowy the next. With the weather all over the place, it’s hard to tell how much longer the resorts are going to be open, so we enjoyed it as if it was our last weekend out. Hopefully that’s not the case but you never know.

By far, the best run of the weekend was off of Western Union Ridge. We took the Mountain Chief lift from the back bowls up to Union Peak and then went for a 30 minute hike. Several of the gates were closed so we just kept on hiking. We finally dropped in somewhere around Iron Mask.
